Enroxil for Chickens
Enroxil is an antibiotic commonly use in poultry. Particularly for treating infections in chickens and turkeys. Its active ingredient, enrofloxacin, is effective against several bacterial pathogens, including Mycoplasma gallisepticum, Mycoplasma synoviae, and Escherichia coli.
Dosage and Administration
For chickens and turkeys, the recommend dosage is 10 mg of enrofloxacin per kilogram of body weight per day, administer for 3 to 5 consecutive days. In cases of mix infections or chronic conditions, treatment may extend to 5 days. If no clinical improvement is observed within 2-3 days, it is advisable to consult a veterinarian for alternative therapies base on susceptibility testing
Withdrawal Period
It’s important to note the withdrawal periods after treatment:
- Chickens: 7 days for meat and offal.
- Turkeys: 13 days for meat and offal.
Enroxil is not authorize for use in laying hens that produce eggs for human consumption
