Product Description
This injectable solution contains tylosin, with a concentration of 200 mg/mL as tylosin base, formulated to combat a broad range of bacterial infections in livestock.

Action
Tylosin is a broad-spectrum antibiotic effective against Gram-positive bacteria like staphylococci, streptococci, Corynebacteria spp., and Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae, as well as Gram-negative bacteria such as Campylobacter coli and certain spirochetes. It is also potent against Mycoplasma species in birds and mammals, including cattle, sheep, goats, and pigs. Tylosin’s lipid solubility and weakly basic nature support its accumulation in inflamed tissues, with macrophage uptake enhancing its effectiveness in treating mastitis, metritis, pneumonia, and foot rot.

Indications

• Cattle: Treats acute mastitis, metritis, respiratory infections (caused by pathogens like Pasteurella multocida), foot rot, and calf diphtheria.
• Pigs: Effective for managing ileitis, swine erysipelas, pneumonia, and arthritis due to specific bacteria and Mycoplasma strains.
• Sheep and Goats: Treats early stages of contagious agalactia and caprine pleuropneumonia.

Dosage and Administration
Administer via IM injection for cattle, pigs, sheep, and goats, or slow IV injection in cattle only. IM injections should be given in the neck and rotated for repeated doses.

• Cattle: 5–10 mg/kg (2.5–5 mL/100 kg) LW daily for up to 5 days.
• Pigs: 5–10 mg/kg (0.25–0.5 mL/10 kg) LW daily for up to 3 days.
• Sheep and Goats: 10 mg/kg (0.5 mL/10 kg) LW daily for up to 5 days.

Withholding Times

• Meat: Animals should not be slaughtered for meat within 21 days of the last treatment.
• Milk: Discard milk for 72 hours post-treatment.

Special Precautions
As a critically important antibiotic, tylosin should only be used when necessary, ideally after culture and sensitivity testing. Limiting use helps prevent antibiotic resistance. Monitor the clinical response during treatment and reassess if symptoms persist or worsen.
